Examining the data we find what appears to be an interesting relationship between first-semester grade point averages (GPA) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores. About 100 students completed the first semester. In most cases, say 75 or so, we find that GPA varies directly with SAT score. That is, if we arrange these 75 students in order of ascending SAT score, we find a corresponding increase in GPAs; the higher the SAT score, the higher the GPA.
